Step into the The Repair Shop in this uplifting tale about two brothers and their treasured bicycle.
A happy and heart-warming tale based on a real story, featured on best-loved TV show The Repair Shop. Brothers Matthew and Ben were blown away when a kid from the other side of the village turned up one day on a brand-new Chopper bike! It was all the brothers could talk about and they dreamed of having their very own bike, but they knew their family would never be able to afford it. Unbeknownst to Matthew and Ben, their parents both got secret jobs so that they could make their boys’ dream come true.

BBC One show The Repair Shop has been beloved by viewers since it first aired in 2017. After moving to prime time TV in March 2020, the programme earned a loyal fanbase and is now regularly watched by over 7 million in the UK alone. Now on its tenth series, the show continues to delight viewers of all ages with its heart-warming stories and careful restoration of cherished items. Amy Sparkes began writing after moving to Devon with her husband, six young children and an overactive imagination. Her books have appeared on CBeebies storytime and been shortlisted for several book awards, including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the BookTrust Best Books Awards for Do Not Enter the Monster Zoo. Katie Hickey takes inspiration from her travels and surroundings to create characterful and atmospheric images. She particularly loves creating illustrations about the quirky stories and characters she meets along the way. Katie uses a combination of hand rendered print processes and digital techniques to create her work.
