This lyrical and empowering board book has an important message for young girls: they can be anyone they want to be.
Encourage young girls to be anything they want with this lyrical and empowering board book!

When the world is whispering
what she should be,
let her be…

free
to feel the warmth of the sun.
Let her be playful,
let her twirl and run.

Mackenzie Porter, author of In My Heart, shares a meaningful message that reads as both a love letter from a hopeful parent and a mantra for young girls, showing them that they can be both curious and certain, gentle and strong, and anything else they imagine!

Mackenzie Porter loves writing stories inspired by her family and is the author of four books, including In My Heart, You Are Home, Let Her Be, and She Is Mama. Mackenzie wrote her first book, In My Heart, when she returned to work after the birth of her daughter. Mackenzie obtained her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in 2023 and works full time both in maternal and child health and as being a mom. In her spare time, she loves to travel anywhere and everywhere. She lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband, daughter, dog, and the rest of her big Greek family.
