Jaco Jacobs is the author of many acclaimed and bestselling books for toddlers, children and teens, including Suurlemoen!, ’n Goeie dag vir boomklim, Moenie hierdie boek eet nie! and My ouma is ’n rock-ster. He writes in a variety of genres, including fun-filled, frolicking poetry, scary and spooky stories, entertaining non-fiction and laugh-out-loud humour. Some of Jaco’s books have been released worldwide in English, and some have been translated into Dutch, Italian, Slovenian and Spanish. Jaco has earned numerous awards, including the Rapport/kykNet Prize, Tienie Holloway Medal, the Scheepers Prize, the Alba Bouwer Prize, the Elsabe Steenberg Prize, the MML Literature Prize and 34 ATKV Children’s Book Awards, a South African Literary Awards (SALA) and he was nominated for the prestigious Carnegie Medal. Jaco lives in Bloemfontein with his wife Elize, daughters Mia and Emma, three dogs, a cat and a pet python.
