Dodgy Dog, Clever Camel, Bonny Bumblebee And Other Rhymes

I was born and raised in Madras India as Maria Sharon Samuel. From an early age my mum read for me and it still has a memorable vision. Reading the Word of God, the Bible developed a very special bond. I was educated at St Joseph’s School, Perambur and then served as a Catechist and taught children for ten years, at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, it was a second home. I trained as a Montessori Teacher and worked at St Montfort School. After my marriage I became known as Maria Sharon Doherty and migrated to London. In London I continued to work as a Catechist at St Mary Magdalena’s Church, Willesden, and at the Library of Willesden Green, Brent and did storytelling and the summer reading challenge. From there on I continued to work at the Convent of Jesus and Mary School. After the pandemic I started an online Ministry of the Word and it’s a very humble group. We read, focus on the important lives of Saints and Martyrs. I love this group because we supported each other in different ways. There is an online YouTube channel for children to encourage parents to read to children and build that bond and deep understanding that will persevere children to find their own value and self “Identity”. Don’t forget who you are. “Do to others as you would like them do to you,” by Jesus word, continue to echo. This is the love of a great teacher who taught me personally and we must put that in practise, which I am still learning to do. I would recommend my book, Dodgy Dog and Other Rhymes, for children aged 0 to 10 years old. This book can be read by parents to their children, to enjoy and connect to the early year’s development of a child’s vocabulary. When reading ask the children questions and see how much they can get out of it. Children develop art, sounds, numbers and rhyming words. They develop scientific knowledge, language and understanding. You can also translate it into different languages. There is a culture of food from around the world that children are familiar with. Children will also be encouraged to enjoy growing, planting and tasting their own produce. Give the child an opportunity and you will see the outcome, give it your best shot. Children with all needs are recommended to read. I’ve practically engaged with children when reading this book and used actions to help illustrate the story, allowing every child to participate when reading this.
