A colourfully illustrated, rhyming, historical tale when Lucy Lunasha, from India, visits her friend Asher (The Great-Grandson of stamp-collector Dadda GG) in Aberdeen, Scotland. She has brought with her a wonderful stamp, dated 1961, from her home town of Allahabad. It depicts the Golden Jubilee of the First Official Airmail Flight which took place on the 18th of February 1911. Lucy's visit coincides with the 110th anniversary of this event and by using the Mailing Magic of the Sorting Stick, Dadda GG 'Postal Pops' them back in time to that day to see the historically epic events that surround it. Tico, the hound, inadvertently gets 'caught up' in the action and mayhem ensues!
At the end of the story, a brief written history of the First Official Airmail Flight is included, along with an activity sheet to draw and colour your very own stamp.
My stamp-collecting father inspired the Dadda GG Stamp Stories. I was born in 1957 in Thornton Heath, Surrey, England and lived in impoverished, chaotic fun with five other siblings and various other animals. I was a bit of a tom-boy and loved sports, spending a lot of time out of the home. My love of speaking languages, meant that from the age of 17 I started living abroad in Germany, Italy, Bahrain and Spain and I have travelled the world. Travel, Music, Golf, Swimming, Meditation, Mindfulness, Kindness and Caring are the things that keep me always looking positively ahead. I like to pay-forward so am always looking at ways to help others. My second husband, Ronnie, inspires me and makes me truly whole. My children and grandchild along with my fun family and crazy friends make me abundantly grateful for the kindness, energy, love and grace that they bestow on me. I am truly blessed for all that I have in life.
