It is a story that describes the love of a Heavenly Father who created children in his image and gave them a home and a purpose in life. The author, father of four and grandfather of three, wanted to make Genesis 1 fun and easy for small children to read and understand. Whimsically written rhyme and elegant watercolor illustrations by Russell Oliviera make this a story to be read and enjoyed over and over again. I want children to learn and to know that God created because God loves, states the author. This is why hearts figure so prominently in the illustrations and why Psalm 136:19 is included at the end of the book. Everything we see around us and every form of life exists because God is love.
