This video on the Arctic and Antarctica is part of a series that brings natural history and environmental subjects to life, with the use of multiple-image live-action photography, graphics and animation techniques. It is intended to enable viewers of all ages to see natural events from a more involved angle. The episode featured includes photography from the frozen worlds at the poles and shows the bitter winter weather - home to the penguins and Inuit. Included is a demonstration that shows a spinning image of the earth as a frozen block of ice; a dramatized portrayal of the race to reach the poles; and an ice cave suspended above the Eyewitness museum in which the myths and legends surrounding this subject are retold.
