Agnes (later to become Mother Teresa) was born in Skopje, North Macedonia. She was raised to love God and love others above all else, and from an early age, she knew she wanted to dedicate herself to religion, so she became a nun. She was fascinated by stories of missionaries helping people and wanted to do the same.
She travelled to Ireland, and then to India, where she worked hard to help all those around her. She taught in a school, but realised she could do more, and so she founded a hospital in an old temple, where she fed and cared for the poor and the sick.
She spent the rest of her life caring for those in need around the world and is now remembered as Saint Teresa of Calcutta. Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara, born in Barcelona, Spain, is a writer and creative director in constant search of new concepts for children’s books. In 2014, she created a book for her two twin nieces for their birthday, which shortly thereafter became the first book in the Little People, BIG DREAMS series. This multimillion-copy bestselling series of picture books explores the lives of outstanding people. From Mahatma Gandhi to Aretha Franklin, to Prince, Sánchez Vegara researches complex careers and makes them accessible to young children, with her unique and mindful style of writing. She works with a diverse team of illustrators to make each book lively, eye-catching and motivating. Working for more than fifteen years for clients in top advertising agencies, her books combine creativity with learning, aiming to establish a new and fresh relationship between children and pop culture. Natascha Rosenberg was born in Germany, and grew up in Spain. She started off studying Law, before doing what felt right: working as a freelance illustrator. You can find her work in children's books, magazines, CD Covers, exhibits and even on toys. Her clients include Usborne, Scholastic and Penguin Young Readers.
