Why were people so afraid of the Vikings? Why were some buried in boats? These are just two of the many questions tackled in this enjoyable look at the Vikings. This newly revised internet-linked edition is full of fun and facts about everyday Viking life and contains links to young and relevant websites.
This lively book is packed with fascinating and surprising facts about Viking raiders and explorers, and the farmers and their families who stayed at home. Did all Vikings have horned helmets and red beards? Why were some of them buried in boats, and why were people so afraid of the Vikings? You’ll be amazed at how much there is to find out.

Struan Reid (Author) Struan was born in East Africa and spent many years in Africa and the Middle East. He read Archaeology and Anthropology at UCL, and before joining Usborne worked and lived for a number of years in Petra, Jordan. He now lives in London and Dorset.
