Using a family-friendly approach the Messy lyfe material draws all ages into a closer understanding of God's love.
Messy lyfe is a child-led activity booklet/magazine that helps people to learn how to live life with Jesus. It is a ‘next steps’ guide for families on the fringe of church. The booklet is pitched for children (aged 6–9years old) who we anticipate will be the driver of the family group/unit as they progress through the daily sessions. The booklet contains three daily sessions over a six-week period (18 sessions) based around the six lyfe areas—starting with prayer, followed by living a good life, working with the Holy Spirit, loving other people, knowing the Bible and living close to God. Simple to read, with space for writing, doodling, and so on.

Rob Hare develops and manages Bible Society’s lyfe resources, which help individuals and small groups to discover a deeper life with God. Lucy Moore is the founder of Messy Church, a rapidly-growing ministry that is now in over 20 countries worldwide. She is responsible for developing the work of Messy Church nationally and internationally—writing, speaking, reflecting and developing Messy projects. Before working full-time with Messy Church, Lucy was a member of BRF’s Barnabas children’s ministry team, offering training for those wanting to bring the Bible to life for children in churches and schools across the UK, and using drama and storytelling to explore the Bible with children herself. Her books include titles in the Messy Church series, as well as AllAge Worship, Colourful Creation, Bethlehem Carols Unpacked, The Lord’s Prayer Unplugged and The Gospels Unplugged. She also presents Messy Church: the DVD. A secondary-school teacher by training, she enjoys acting, walking Minnie the dog, marvelling at the alien world of her two teenage children and guiltily watching unimproving television programmes. She is a Lay Canon of Portsmouth Cathedral.
