By doing a spot of collecting throughout the game, you can start to gain hold of some extra goodies.

Specter Boxing

In order to unlock the Specter Boxing mini-game, you must successfully collect 20 of the Specter Emblems throughout the game. When you've managed to get all these, you can play Specter Boxing with 1-Ton and John.

Survival Mode and Specter Boxing Characters

After unlocking Specter Boxing, you can also unlock new characters to use in it. Successfully complete this mode of the game, and then the Boss Monkey and Specter will become playable. You'll also unlock Survival Mode by completing Specter Boxing as well, which is a mode that you can play as the Blue Pipotron in.

By making progress through the game, you'll be able to unlock some new modes and extras. Here's how to get it done.

50 Exhibition Matches

In order to unlock the 50 Exhibition Matches, you have to successfully complete the Formula Regular League. When this has been done, you'll gain access to the 50 Exhibition Matches.

Ending Credits

And when you've unlocked the 50 Exhibition Matches, if you can successfully complete all of them, you will unlock the Ending Credits for the game, giving you the chance to watch them as a movie attachment whenever you want.

For a random Muscle Collector car, get a gold medal on the Harbour Town Eliminator event. Again, the car unlocked differs between UMDs.

Win 5 Gold Medals throughout the game.

Collect a total of 20 Gold Medals in the game.

Bonus Level

Successfully complete the game once.

Inferno

Defeat the boss called Colossus at the Sector 2 Base.

Judgement

Defeat the boss called Enforcer in the Sector 2 City level.

Defeat the boss character on level 10 of Infinity mode.

Vulcan

Defeat the boss character on Level 20 of Infinity mode.

Toy Block Cars

One Hit KOs

Finally, to be able to instantly knock out opposition cars with a single shunt, all you need to do is enter this code at the main menu, while holding L and R: X, Circle, Circle, X

New Game +

We begin with a nice, somewhat simple secret for a New Game Plus option. To open this up, simply complete the game once and then save the file after the ending sequence and credits have played through. When this has been done, you can start up a new game crossing over everything that you've found and collected from the original game.

Genji Armour

Before you get to the New Game Plus, there are a few things that you might like to uncover during your first play through, like the Genji Armour. To unlock this, you have to successfully complete your DMW gallery, earning a 100% rating for each piece. Equipping the Genji Armour allows you to get max HP of 99,999 and gives permanent Endure and Regen to Zack.

Genji Shield

There's also the Genji Shield, which can be found during Mission 7-6-6. To get this, you must use the following attacks, in the order stated, when fighting the Magic Pot during this mission: Gil Toss, Costly Punch, 99,999 Damage and then Octaslash. Once you have done all these in that order, you should get the Genji Shield, which you can quip for permanent Omni Status Guard, the ability to absorb elemental damage, and permanent activated Barrier and MBarrier.

Avoid Some Battles

A quick tip if you want to avoid getting into battles is to try hugging the walls when you run through a location. This is especially useful if you're running low on health at any point. The trick works best in circular rooms, though you may find yourself unable to avoid some battles in other rooms.

Cursed Ring

Something that is worth taking the time to uncover is the Cursed Ring. After fighting Behemoth and moving on to the second chapter, you'll enter into a fairly important cut-scene involving the character Kunsel. At the end of the scene, he tells you to look in a supply pod nearby, in which you should be able to find a bronze bangle.

After grabbing the bangle, continue to look in the pod multiple times. After about 20 or so looks, you should wind up finding the Cursed Ring. This gives you a 10% increase to your HP, MP and SP, and also boosts your other stats by 10 points. However, while the ring is equipped, you will be unable to use limit breaks, level up or access your DWMs during the course of a battle.
