Mass Effect is back for another epic adventure, and here's how you can gain some rather cool bonuses from it.

Completion Bonuses

Successfully complete the game once and start a new play-through. Your new character will begin with 200,000 credits, 50,000 of each resource and a 25% experience bonus.

Alternate Outfits and Extra Skills

Complete a loyalty mission for one of your crew members, and you'll be rewarded with an alternate coloured outfit for them, as well as be able to access additional skills for the character when they're in your party.

Codes

The following codes will help you when you're in a jam during the game. Before you can activate them, however, you have to bring up the Cheats Menu.

Cheat Menu

To open the Cheat Code menu in the game, hold down LB and RB during game play, and then tap in the following buttons combo: X, B, Y, A, A

When you've entered this correctly, a codes menu should appear on screen, allowing you to enter one of the following cheat codes.

Full Health

To have your health fully restored, bring up the cheat menu as described, and then enter the following code into it: Y, X, X, Y, X, B

Full Ammo

If you wish to be blessed with a full supply of ammo for your weapons, again bring up the cheats menu, and then pop in the following button combo: B, B, Y, X, A, Y

Cheat Codes

There are two very important things that you need to know before you enter any of the cheat codes in this game. First of all, to be able to use any of the cheats for this game, you must have downloaded the patch for the game from that appeared in late October 2008. This patch was the one that added the codes to the game in the first place, so without this, none of the following codes will work at all.

Secondly, you should also be aware that using any of the cheat codes in the game will render you unable to earn any more achievements for Mercenaries 2 on the save file you're using, meaning you'd have to start a new game if you wanted to earn any achievements you might have missed.

Cheat Mode

With that in mind, the first thing to do is activate cheat mode. First up, press the Back button to access the PDA screen, and then enter the following button combination:

LB, RB, RB, LB, RB, LB, LB, RB, RB, RB, LB

Following the correct entry of this code, read the prompt that appears on screen, and then once again go back into the PDA screen. You can then enter one of the following codes using the d-pad, ensuring that the map cursor is not moved away from the PMC when you do so. Except where stated, the cheat will only be activated for the player that enters the button combo in co-op mode.

Fill Fuel Level

To fill your fuel level, enter the following code: Up, Up, Up, Down, Down, Down

All Air Strikes

To have all air-strikes, except for nukes, available, you should enter in the following code: Right, Left, Down, Up, Right, Left, Down, Up

All Supplies

In order to be blessed with all supplies, you simply need to enter this code: Left, Right, Right, Left, Up, Up, Left, Up

All Vehicles

To gain access to all vehicles, you should enter in this code: Up, Down, Left, Right, Right, Left

All Nukes

In order to receive nukes, all you have to do is enter in this code: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right

Infinite Ammo

For an infinite supply of ammunition, you need to enter the following code: Up, Down, Left, Right, Left, Left

Invincibility

To become invincible, you must enter this code: Up, Down, Left, Down, Right, Right

NB: If you're playing in co-op mode, the second player will become invincible too, even if they join the game after you've entered the code.

All Costumes

If you'd like to unlock all the bonus costumes, you must enter the following code: Up, Right, Down, Left, Up

Grappling Hook

Finally, to unlock the grappling hook, you have to enter the following code: Up, Left, Down, Right, Up

Just to recap, you need to have downloaded the late October 2008 patch to be able to access the cheats, you must enter the Cheat Mode code to enable the other codes, and you'll be permanently barred from earning achievements on the save file after enabling Cheat Mode.

Bonus Characters

Full progress through the Story Mode of the game will allow you to unlock a couple of extra characters to play as.

First of all, to unlock the character Darkseid, you have to complete the DC side of the Story Mode.

And to unlock Shao Kahn, you must successfully complete the MK side of the game's Story Mode.

To select either character after unlocking them, you need to press RB on the character select screen to bring up the list of secret characters.
