Eileen Gillooly is an associate professor of English and comparative literature at Columbia University, where she also earned her PhD. She has been awarded research fellowships by the American Council of Learned Societies and the National Endowment for the Humanities. Illustrator Jim Sharpe was born in 1936, he died in 2005. He worked largely in portraits and realistic representations, primarily in watercolour and mixed media. His work has been displayed in the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
