Hans Ulrich Obrist ist Kurator und Co-Direktor der Serpentine Gallery in London. Das Fachmagazin Art Review hat ihn 2010 und 2011 auf Platz 2 der 100 einflussreichsten Menschen in der Kunstbranche gewählt, 2009 auf Platz 1. Obrist ist Gründungsmitglied der Akademie der Künste der Welt in Köln.
