For hundreds of years Christendom has been blessed with bible commentaries written by great men of Gad who were highly respected for their godly walk and their insight into spiritual truth. The Crossway Classic Commentary Series, carefully adapted for maximizing understanding and usefulness, presents the very best work on individual Bible books for today's believes.

The apostle of Paul's epistles to the church at Corinthians, the most personal and heart-wrenchingly honest of all his epistles, Paul commends the value of earthly trials -God's power at work in our weakness; inner renewal despite outward suffering; eternal treasures- and resoundingly testifies to God's faithfulness in adversity. Whether used for supplemental reading or as a resource for careful study, this classic commentary will be of great benefit to every reader who opens his or her heart to its treasures

Charles Hodge (1797-1878) was a professor of biblical literature and theology at Princeton for over fifty years. Hodge also edited the Princeton Review for forty-six years, in which he particularly championed divine sovereignty in salvation and the infallibility of the Bible. He is especially well-known for his commentaries on Romans, Ephesians, and 1 and 2 Corinthians.
