Salvation Manual: Bible Made Easy through Questions and Answers for the book of Matthew is one of several books in the Salvation Manual: Bible Made Easy through Questions and Answers series. Like other books in the series, it adopts a questions and answers pattern in identifying and breaking down biblical truths in a way that will be easily understood and internalised. In a spectacular method of using questions and answers, it unravels every message, event, and character from all the chapters in the book of Matthew. The book consists of twenty eight chapters, one for each chapter of the book of Matthew. The questions and answers are placed at the end of each chapter to assess the degree to which the reader understands the chapter read as well as how much of the details of the chapter they retained. The book makes the reader study every chapter of the book of Matthew in two directions; the forward and reverse directions. The chapter of the book of Matthew at the beginning of each chapter of this book is the first point of contact for the reader which they have to read and understand what is contained in the chapter. After that are questions from the chapter and answers at the end of the questions, with which the reader would test their knowledge of what they had read in that chapter. These questions and answers segment presents the reader with problems which points them back to the Bible for confirmation or further studies (the forward and reverse directions). The approach to Bible studies presented in this book is remarkable as it will take its reader a step above regular Bible reading to be fully grounded in the details of the events and messages in the scriptures. The book is a tool that can challenge one's knowledge of the scripture, serve as a Bible study guide and reveal vital information that might have been overlooked or missed in the course of one's study of the scriptures.

CHAPTER 1

MATTHEW CHAPTER 1

“A record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. 2Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers, 3and Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez was the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram, 4and Ram the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon, 5and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz was the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed was the father of Jesse, 6and Jesse the father of David the king. And David was the father of Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah; 7and Solomon was the father of Rehoboam, and Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asa; 8and Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, and Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah, 9and Uzziah the father of Jotham, and Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah; 10and Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, and Manasseh the father of Amon, and Amon the father of Josiah, 11and Josiah the father of Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the exile to Babylon. 12And after the exile to Babylon, Jechoniah was the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel, 13and Zerubbabel the father of Abihud, and Abihud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azzur, 14and Azzur the father of Zadok, and Zadok the father of Ahiam, and Ahiam the father of Elihud, 15and Elihud the father of Eleazar, and Eleazar the father of Matthan, and Matthan the father of Jacob, 16and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, from whom was born Jesus, who is called the Messiah. 17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the exile to Babylon fourteen generations; and from the exile to Babylon to the Messiah, fourteen generations. 18Now the birth of Jesus Christ happened like this. His mother Mary had been engaged to Joseph, and before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. 19And Joseph, her husband, being a righteous man, and not willing to make her a public example, intended to put her away secretly. 20But when he thought about these things, look, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to yourself Mary, your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21And she will bring forth a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.’ 22Now all this has happened, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, 23‘Look, the virgin will conceive and bear a son, and they will call his name Immanuel;’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’ 24And Joseph arose from his sleep, and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took his wife to himself; 25and had no marital relations with her until she had brought forth a son; and he named him Jesus.”
