An interesting collection of stories of the history, folklore, and mythology of Hungary. This includes the mythological origins of Hungary and legends of nomad warriors and ancestors of Atilla the Hun following the Turul to the Carpathian basin to form a new country under the covenant of blood.

Joseph Azary is of Hungarian, Italian and Irish descent and has done a lot of research into his family ancestry and Hungarian heritage. Joseph enjoys history, genealogy, mythology and exploring the unusual parts of history. Joseph has a bachelor's degree in Biological Science from University of Connecticut, Master's in Business Administration concentrating in Public Health from Sacred Heart University and has completed graduate courses in Regulatory Affairs at Northeastern University. Joseph has worked in the medical device field for over 32 years including working for companies such as US Surgical, Johnson & Johnson, Fujifilm Medical, and Z-Medica (makers of QuikClot). He currently runs a consulting business, Aztech Regulatory & Quality LLC, with his wife Jennifer. He has played bass guitar for last 40 years in a variety of rock, blues and metal bands. He enjoys spending time with family, music, concerts, downhill skiing, hiking, camping, travel, weightlifting, playing musical instruments (including bass, guitar, drums, piano and banjo), Horror and Sci-Fi movies, reading books, history, watching sports including UCONN, Notre Dame, NY Giants and NY Yankees, and playing with his dogs. He has been married for over 30 years to his wife Jennifer and has two sons (Alexander and Evan).
This book contains discussions on Hungarian history and mythology, including the mysterious origin of the Hungarian people. -Why is their language so different from the languages of the surrounding countries? -Were Hungarians descendants of Atilla the Hun?- Was Hungary filled with dragons, witches, and vampires? -Was Dracula a Hungarian vampire? The book also includes discussion of the Romani people who were an integral part of Hungarian history and are to be admired for the courage they show to live their lives the way tradition dictates. There are many stories about the conflicts between the Turks and Hungarians over the centuries and the important and interesting role that Transylvania and Vlad III played in Hungarian history. There are discussions about the discrimination of Hungarians by other nationalities after World War I and the Trianon disaster that dismantled the country. Hungarian history portrays the image of strong people who were in many ways isolated and different from other European cultures. They suffered many challenges and tragedies ranging from the invasion of Genghis Khan, invasion and occupation by the Turks, control and influence from the Austrian Habsburgs, dismemberment of their country after World War I, Hitler's influence in the early stages of World War II, Soviet murders and rape of Hungarians, Communist takeover, and the death of a revolution. This is a fun and interesting introduction to Hungary and the Hungarians that may encourage you to study more about their vital role in Western Civilization and World Culture.
