Caring for the Socially Marginalised in Interwar Europe, 1919–1939

Michele Mioni is Research Associate at the Centre d'Histoire Sociale des Mondes Contemporains (CHS), at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, in France. His research interests include the history of social policy in Western Europe, with a focus on the links between state policy and the voluntary sector, warfare-to-welfare theories ,and the history of trade unions in France and Italy.

Stefano Petrungaro is Associate Professor of the History of Eastern Europe at Ca' Foscari University in Venice, Italy. He was previously Senior Researcher at the Leibniz-Institute for East and South-East Europe, in Regensburg, Germany. His research interests include social marginals and their jobs in interwar Yugoslavia; the social history of the late-Habsburg Empire, and twentieth-century Balkans.
