Start to make sense of how you feel, and find hope that change is possible.

Depression touches the lives of so many people, yet it is often feared, ignored or misunderstood. Combining knowledge of individual experience, psychological research and professional practice, this book seeks to bring understanding and offer support and help to both sufferers and carers.

Key insights in this book include:
• Recognising signs and symptoms
• Exploding myths about depression
• How depression speaks into and about our faith
• Finding hope for climbing out of the darkness

With real-life case studies, biblical examples and personal insights, this book offers help to all those suffering from depression – and gives practical guidelines for those wanting to help others.

Wendy Bray's first book In the Palm of God's Hand (with BRF) won the biography prize at The Christian Book Awards in 2002. Since then she has authored or co-authored more than a dozen books, and written countless features and Bible-reading notes. Wendy is associate priest at All Saints, Clifton in Bristol and is married with two adult children. She is living with stage IV breast cancer and, having a special interest in the way suffering and liturgy relate to one another, is currently researching in this area. Chris Ledger worked as a counsellor, supervisor and trainer in the NHS, and now has a private practice. She enjoys speaking at Christian meetings and is a regular tutor on CWR’s Insight days, also co-authoring several books in the Insight series. At Greyfriar’s Church, Reading, she is a licensed lay minister, and in her spare time enjoys having fun with her five grandchildren. DR LYNN SUTER is a psychologist who has worked in the NHS and private practice as well as having been clinical director for a Christian counselling agency. She has also taught on the Masters programmes at Waverley Abbey College and been supervisor for a Christian counselling agency in the West Midlands where she now lives.
