Vienna and the world go to Landtmann - and it's been this way for 150 years. This richly illustrated book invites readers to experience a day at this venerable coffee house on Vienna's Ringstrasse - from the early morning hours until shortly before midnight. Meet long-time regular guests and legendary waiters, find out about traditional Viennese dishes, and discover Landtmann's recipe for success: whiling away the hours can be so stimulating!

Berndt Querfeld: trained as a gardener and garden and landscape designer. He joined his parents’ Landtmann business in 1988. Today, he is managing director of Café Landtmann, Café Residenz, Café Museum, Landtmann’s feine Patisserie, Landtmann’s Parkcafé, Landtmann’s Jausen Station, and Das Bootshaus. In his free time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle through Africa.

After studying at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Alexander Rabl worked as copywriter and creative director for renowned Austrian and German advertising agencies. He spent the money he made there on travel, culture, and restaurants. He also worked on the side as a journalist and author, writing on the topics of dining, restaurants, and wine.
