Berndt Querfeld: trained as a gardener and garden and landscape designer. He joined his parents’ Landtmann business in 1988. Today, he is managing director of Café Landtmann, Café Residenz, Café Museum, Landtmann’s feine Patisserie, Landtmann’s Parkcafé, Landtmann’s Jausen Station, and Das Bootshaus. In his free time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle through Africa.
After studying at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, Alexander Rabl worked as copywriter and creative director for renowned Austrian and German advertising agencies. He spent the money he made there on travel, culture, and restaurants. He also worked on the side as a journalist and author, writing on the topics of dining, restaurants, and wine. Since 2010, he has been writing full-time for Austrian and German newspapers and gourmet magazines and also acts as editor-in-chief of the Berlin based wine magazine Schluck. In addition, he writes articles and creates concepts for cookbooks and books about wine and various culinary topics, several of which have been published by Brandstätter Verlag.
