This book examines the tactics of value recruitment through case studies in educational and environmental politics. Values are fundamental to political attitudes. Thomas E. Nelson received his degree in social psychology from the University of Michigan in 1992. He joined the faculty in political science at The Ohio State University that same year. He teaches and studies topics at the intersection of psychology and politics, including political communication, political attitudes and public opinion, and racial politics. He also enjoys teaching social science research methods, including experimental design and survey research. When asked whether he roots for the Wolverines or the Buckeyes, he always answers: the underdog.
