A comprehensive guide to the mystery of Zen meditation, and a treatise on the inner recesses of the mind, this text decsribes the mind and the conditions of Zen practice. It provides beginners with instructions, describing the correct inner and outer posture.
Original Mind is beautiful book for all those interested in meditation and Zen practice. A perfect introductory guide, the book covers breathing, mindfulness, meditation postures and more. Original Mind shows with clarity and deep insight how to apply the ancient wisdom of Zen to modern life. One of the most eminent Buddhist masters in the West, Baker Roshi explores how to establish a spiritual practice and overcome common obstacles on a spiritual path (difficulties with meditation and more). This book is an invitation to the insights, practices, adventures, and joys of Zen practice. It shows us a way to experience the joy of our own true nature, our original mind. Instrumental in putting together the classic bestseller Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, Richard Baker was the top American disciple of Suzuki Roshi, and was one of only two people to be appointed as his successor. This long-awaited book is regarded as the sequel to Suzuki Roshi's classic text.
