This book deals with magnetic anomaly maps and their properties.

These properties are essential to modeling the elimination of the uncertainty problem of buried archaeological structure locations and depths.

To this end, several models are presented and their quantitative properties are studied. Numerical simulations have been created, confirming theoretical results that were obtained.

Hazel Deniz Toktay received her master's and doctorate degrees from Istanbul University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Geophysical Engineering. Since 2016, she has been working as a research assistant in the Applied Department of the Department of Geophysics Engineering at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Engineering Faculty. Her research interests are in the field of interdisciplinary sciences, numerical simulations, modeling, archaeological prospection, applied geophysics, derivative-based methods, boundary detection and magnetic prospection.

Between 2016 and 2020, she assisted in many courses such as magnetic prospection and seismic prospection. She has been a researcher in national and international projects. In 2018, he joined the HORIZON 2020 COST-Soil Science & Archaeogeophysics Alliance: going beyond prospection (SAGA) project as a researcher. She conducted research by applying geophysical methods in many excavations. In 2013, she took part in the restoration surveys of Hagia Sophia. Between 2012 and 2018, she contributed to the archaeogeophysical studies of Amasya Oluz Höyük Excavation. Since 2019 and 2021, she has been working as a researcher in the Georadar Research Project of Bilecik Edebali Valley Old Settlement Area from Establishment to Independence Burnt City Open Air Museum, which has been conducted under the chairmanship of Bilecik Governorship and in the Epigraphic Historical-Geographical Survey in Sakarya and Bilecik Provinces and Districts, respectively. She participated with the lectures in many leading seminars in the world as well as in many national and international conferences and congresses. She has written many articles; some of them were published in the impact factor journals having interdisciplinary nature (in particular, mathematical methods in the applied sciences). Moreover, she is a member of Deutsche Geophysikalische Gesellshcahft e.V (DGG), European Geosciences Union (EGU), European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) and Society of Exploration Geophysics (SEG).
