Diana Baynes Jansen is a Jungian-oriented Analytical psychotherapist and Sandplay therapist with a practice in the North of England. She is the youngest of Baynes' six children and the child of his later years. It has been her life-long quest to get to know the father who has profoundly affected her life and who died when she was only six years old. She made a resolution to write about his fascinating and unusual life while still in her teens. It has taken her till now, when she is older than the father she remembers, to fulfil this quest. She trained as a nurse and later as a professional singer. She sang throughout Britain and Europe for many years. She was married to a doctor, David Crockford, with whom she had three daughters. When he died of cancer while their children were still young, she trained as a psychotherapist, which has enabled her to bring the healing and artistic threads of her life into a single frame. Now, in her second marriage to Christopher Jansen, Diana leads a full life with a busy practice, surrounded by the growing families of her three daughters and her husband's four sons.
