Anthony Norris Groves (1795–1853) stands as a significant figure in the history of Christian missions, particularly remembered for his contributions to the principles of faith missions and his influences on the Plymouth Brethren movement. Born in Newton Valance, Hampshire, England, Groves studied dentistry before turning his attentions towards missionary work and theological reflection. Groves is best known for his seminal work 'Christian Devotedness' (1825), which advocates for the complete trust in God's provision and the renouncement of personal wealth for the sake of Gospel work.
