One Land, Two Peoples

Updated in the light of the Israel/PLO peace negotiations, this undergraduate text on the conflict over Palestine takes the aftermath of the Gulf War as its starting point and places subsequent events in the context of the region's history. It also aims to show how theories of international relations can help to address questions about the politics of national identity, and examines the roles played by economics, culture, religion and outside parties, in both fuelling and resolving the conflict.
