The societal transformation that has been wrought in Ireland over the last twenty-five years has been nothing less than epic in scale. Not since the Great Famine of the 1840’s has such a change been witnessed.
The societal transformation that has been wrought in this country over the last twenty-five years has been nothing less than epic in scale. Not since the Great Famine of the 1840’s has such a change been witnessed. Today, in a strange and unsettling reprise of history, the Irish people stand by, like powerless spectators, to an enormous social and demographic event which has transformed their homeland and their society.
While the Western world is convulsed by discourse, debate and discussion on the migration issue, we have averted our eyes. As the elephant in the room rampages, we have allowed an authority, who has taken upon itself the role of arbiter of good and evil, to decree that immigration is a subject that cannot be discussed.
