I was not particularly open to spiritual things, but when I prayed, something powerful happened. I had no idea that teaching the Bible would mean these things.#3 I was raised in a Christian home, but I was not taught to believe in God. I was taught to believe in Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny. I was taught that some things were hogwash, and I learned that we all pick and choose what we want to believe.#4 We all adopt the Bible and adapt it to our culture. This means that we pick and choose what we want to follow from it. It s easier for us to hear that we adopt and adapt, but the two expressions really mean the same thing.
