Mihaela Tănase-Dogaru is a Professor at the English Department of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Bucharest, working on the syntax of the English complex sentence and the syntax and semantics of the noun phrase in Germanic and Romance languages. She earned her PhD from the same institution in 2007, with a thesis on the syntax of classifier-noun constructions and bare nouns in English and Romance languages. Her subsequent research focused on the syntax of partitivity, cardinal-noun constructions, binominal qualitative constructions, and (non)canonical representation of coordination structures.Alina Tigău is an Associate Professor at the English Department of the University of Bucharest, working on the syntax and semantics of the Romanian verb phrase from a comparative perspective with Romance and Germanic languages. She earned her PhD from the same institution in 2010, with a thesis devoted to the syntax and semantics of the direct object in Romance and Germanic languages. Since 2016, she has worked as a Humboldt Fellow and as a member of the research project Internal Arguments in Romance at the University of Cologne, Germany, investigating ditransitive constructions in Romance languages.Mihaela Zamfirescu is an Associate Professor at the English Department of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Bucharest, working on negation and polarity in Germanic and Romance languages. She earned her PhD in 2012, with a thesis devoted to the syntax and semantics of positive polarity items in English and Romanian. Her subsequent research focused on translation studies and interpreting.
