This book focuses on the natural world and objects which through Covid-19 we have missed or been denied access to, encouraging us to view these with fresh, appreciative, spiritual eyes.
Across a year’s worth of weekly reflections, Gordon Giles focuses on objects, scenes, activities and places, drawing out spiritual insights to help us reflect on what we have learned as we venture out again after months of restriction, absence and anxiety.

From Easter, through the changing seasons to the following Easter, we are led to consider: What is it like spiritually to stop wearing masks? What does a beach say to us after coronavirus? How has Zoom affected us during lockdown and how do we now relate to technology as a medium of fellowship? Where is Christ amid our restrictions and our releases?

Revd Dr Gordon Giles studied Music and Philosophy at Lancaster University and theology at Magdalene College and Ridley Hall, Cambridge before being ordained in 1995. He served as Succentor of St Paul's Cathedral between 1998 and 2003 before becoming Vicar of St Mary Magdalene's, Enfield. Between 2008 and 2019 he was also Director of Post-Ordination Training in the Edmonton Area of London Diocese. Gordon's doctorate is in hymnology and he is an editor of Ancient and Modern and a director of the English Hymnal Company. He has written several Lent and Advent books for BRF as well as being the editor of BRF's New Daylight Bible reading notes.
