The History of Medicine and Healthcare

Lesley Bolton is an instructor in the Department of Classics and Religion in the Faculty of Arts of the University of Calgary, Canada. Her research interests are ancient medicine, with a particular focus on women’s healthcare, female practitioners, and male authors. She is the author of Medical Terminology from Head to Toe.William J. Pratt is an instructor at Mount Royal University, Calgary, and historian at Parks Canada. He has taught military history, Canadian history, and Canadian studies at universities in Alberta, Canada. He is the co-author of Fighting with the Empire: Canada, Britain, and Global Conflict, 1867–1947.Frank W. Stahnisch is a Professor with joint appointment in the Department of Community Health Sciences and the Department of History at the University of Calgary, Canada. He also holds the AMF/Hannah Professorship in the History of Medicine and Health Care in the Cumming School of Medicine.
