Discovering the Scientist Within is uniquwe in the way it teaches students about research methods using a case study approach. Each chapter presents students with a single study described from start to finish.  Chapters start by asking students to consider a scenario and then walk them through the steps of the study:  formulating a research question, performing a literature review, constructing a data collection method, considering ethics, refining the method, gathering data, understanding and reporting the statistical results.  Students come away with a practical understanding of the research process and useful practice in the basic steps that comprise all studies. The book can also be purchased with the breakthrough online resource, LaunchPad, which offers innovative media content, curated and organised for easy assignability. LaunchPad's intuitive interface presents quizzing, flashcards, animations and much more to make learning actively engaging.
