From the heart and soul of Sonya Watson, comes the heart-breaking journey of how she learnt to love her child. Combined with the expert insight of the compassionate and talented psychologist; Kathryn Whitehead, this book is divided into two helpful parts. In Part I we follow Sonya's desperate struggle with postpartum/postnatal depression and anxiety, leading her to the darkest of places as she struggled to accept her own child. We witness her journey from the painful despair of a young woman who never understood how or why she was unable to feel a bond that comes so naturally to others. Meeting Kathryn changed her world forever as she helped Sonya to understand her feelings. Part I also gives us Kathryn's valuable insight into how and why Sonya struggled to bond with her child, and outlines exactly what needed to be done to enable her to recover and enjoy life as a mother. Part II is Pullingthetrigger, the definitive survival and recovery approach for overcoming postpartum depression and anxiety.
It is a unique, user-friendly self-help approach to support and guide mild, moderate and severe sufferers to a place called recovery and beyond.
