This cassette accompanies the updated book edition of the English guide, which gives an overview of the linguistics characteristics of varieties of English around the world. To keep up with modern research, the chapter on the Caribbean has been reworked and rewritten, and is informed by the recent work the authors have conducted in this area. The book also includes a chapter on "Lesser-known Englishes", covering those varieties spoken in the Channel Islands, Bermuda and The Bahamas as well as African countries such as Botswana and Namibia.
