Lesley Flynn (nee Pope) and Gwen Lancaster worked together as speech and language therapists for Frenchay Health Authority from 1986-1990. During this time they completed their first book for Winslow/Speechmark - 'Working with Children's Phonology'. Lesley then worked for Newcastle Health Authority for three and a half years, where her innovative work with speech-disordered children has had a lasting impact on the service. Lesley died in December 1992; a memorial lecture is held in Newcastle each year.
