Christoph Haase is a Researcher and Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics. With a background in the natural sciences and in English and German linguistics, he is primarily interested in morphosyntactic phenomena of temporality and causation from a cognitive perspective. His other research interests are in first and second language acquisition, English language teaching, and corpus studies in the field of English for academic purposes. After 10 years of working at German universities, he currently teaches at the English Department at the University of J. E. Purkyně, Ústí nad Labem.Natalia Orlova is the Head of the Department of English and Associate Professor of TEFL at the Faculty of Education of the University of J. E. Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem. She has also worked at Herzen State Pedagogical University in Saint-Petersburg, and has presented papers at various TESOL conventions in the USA and held workshops for teachers in a variety of countries. She is also a co-author of a number of textbooks for school and university students, and currently heads the EU-funded project NEFLT. Her main research interests include ways of developing pre-service EFL teachers’ professional competence and cross-cultural issues.Joel Cameron Head is a teacher of English Literature and Composition with a special interest in poetry and poetics, and has studied in both California and the Czech Republic. After a stint in publishing in New York City, he served for five years in the US Army as a Russian linguist. A native of the American West, he has travelled widely, and taught in Europe, North Africa, Asia, and North America. He lives with his wife and two children in the Czech Republic, where he has worked for nine years at J.E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.
