This is the first part of a two-volume history of the Caribbean. The first volume covers the period from the coming of the Amerindians to emancipation in 1834 and also deals with immigration into the Caribbean in the 19th century, while this second volume covers the period from emancipation to post-independence. Revision notes, checks on students understanding, questions and suggestions for further work and class projects are included at the end of each book.
