Nationalisms and sexualities are two of the most powerful discourses shaping contemporary notions of identity. "Nationalisms and Sexualities" looks at how the formation of sexual, gendered, racial and/or class identities have contributed to the formation of national identities, and vice-versa. It also looks at how technologies of representation play a role in the constitution of national and sexual identities and how colonialism and post-colonialism, have altered consolidations of national and sexual identities. Grouped thematically into six sections, topics covered include: dress as a marker of national and sexual status, colonial and neocolonial nations and sexualities, national citizens and feminisms encountering disparate nationalisms.
