Diskursdynamiken

This study seeks to develop a foundation for a theory of meaning that views linguistic innovation and discursive dynamics as the normal state of affairs. It integrates systems and behavioral theory, identifying discourses as the loci of change in linguistic meaning. An analysis of multi-code metaphors makes plausible the discursive sensitivity of images in advertisements and leads to a proposal for a multicodal expansion of discourse analysis. Die Studie entwickelt Grundlagen einer Bedeutungstheorie, die sprachliche Innovationen und diskursive Dynamiken als Normalfall versteht. Durch die Integration system- und handlungstheoretischer Aspekte werden Diskurse als Orte des Bedeutungswandels beschreibbar. Die Analyse von multikodalen Metaphern plausiblisiert die Diskurssensitivität von Bildern in Printanzeigen und führt zum Postulat der multikodalen Erweiterung von Diskursanalysen.
