Truly exceptional prayers, liturgies, poetry, reflections and imaginative worship. Written partly in Scots and partly in English, this is a wonderful resource for Lent, Holy Week and Easter for all who seek inspiration or lead worship in Scotland.
For Lent, Holy Week and Easter, this is a truly exceptional range of inspirational prayers, liturgies, poetry, reflections and imaginative worship. Partly in Scots and partly in English, it is a wonderful resource for all who seek inspiration or lead worship in Scotland.

One of the most creative ministers in the Church of Scotland, David Ogston was a sensitive liturgist in a church which is suspicious of liturgy; a poet whose prayers use words to evoke and enlarge the mind rather than imprison and encourage guilt; a preacher whose sermons were pastoral; a broadcaster whose honesty crossed the airwaves.

DAVID OGSTON was a Church of Scotland minister whose work in Scots is loved and widely appreciated. As well as writing for print, Ogston produced brilliant scripts for religious broadcasts for BBC radio. Before he died in 2008, he was beginning to gather material together for publication. This book is the result. THE REV JOHNSTON MCKAY has been presenter, Editor and Producer of BBC Scotland's religious programming. Previously published by Edinburgh University Press, Saint Andrew Press and others, he is author of eight books and is a well-known and deeply knowledgeable commentator on religious affairs.
