She is also a licensed professional counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist in Texas, where she has worked with adolescents and families for the past nineteen years in a variety of settings. Dr. Metcalf is President Elect of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, and the author of nine books. Her work has been excerpted in the Ladies Home Journal, Woman's Day, Learning Magazine, and numerous professional journals and books.
