Born in far south-west Victoria on a farm in 1951, Tony Wright has been a journalist for 40 years. He has been based at the Canberra Press Gallery for the past 21 years. During that time he has travelled throughout Australia and the world, reporting on everything from politics to war. He has worked on several rural and regional papers and has been a senior political correspondent for The Canberra Times, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Bulletin. Wright is currently National Affairs Editor of The Age.
