This book treats the theology of John Wesley, Anglican priest and founder of Methodism. His views of eternity and time are described and analyzed. Though not a systematic theologian, he possessed a systematic theology, inherited from the Bible, Rabbinic sources, Patristic authors, and classical thinkers of the Western Church from the Protestant Reformation to the Enlightenment. His depiction of time forms a PILGRIM'S PROGRESS of man's movement towards eternity a parte post. Special topics treated: The being and existence of God; the Creation; nature of souls; angels; salvation history; and eschatology.

The Author: Born in Somers Point, N.J., David Ingersoll Naglee received his B.A. from Houghton College in 1953; his M.Div. from Temple School of Theology and Crozer Theological Seminary in 1959; and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Temple University in 1963 and 1966, respectively. A minister of the United Methodist Church, he served 16 years in the pastorate in Western New York and Southern New Jersey before being appointed to the Faculty of LaGrange College in 1966. A full professor since 1973, he was the Flora Glenn Candler Professor of Religion and Philosophy from 1971-1973 at LaGrange College. He has been an Adjunct Professor for the Candler School of Theology at Emory University, the San Francisco School of Theology and Southern Union College. This is the fifth book he has authored.

Contents: From everlasting to everlasting treats John Wesley's understanding of God in eternity, the creation in time, and God's plan to consummate time and creation in Christ by granting them eternity a parte post.
