He is Series Editor of History: Concepts, Theories and Practice (Pearson), and UK Editor of Rethinking History: The Journal of Theory and Practice (Taylor and Francis). He has published two books on American history and eight on the nature of history of which the most recent is Narrative and History (Palgrave Macmillan).
