The Energy Transition (eBook)
XVII, 172 Seiten
Springer-Verlag
978-3-319-50292-2 (ISBN)
The author, an experienced energy professional, combines the various aspects of the energy transition into a single perspective. While highlighting a number of salient problems, he also explores grounds for optimism that these challenges can and will be met.
After establishing the historical context, the book presents an analysis of today's energy industry, different energy sources, countries and determinants of energy demand, supplementing all sections with a wealth of global and local data. It subsequently proposes measures to solve the energy equation and a roadmap for a sustainable future, based on more efficient energy use, cleaner energy production and advanced technologies.
Vincent Petit has worked in the energy management environment for the last fifteen years, gathering rich and diverse experience in both engineering and marketing roles, in corporate roles and operations, in Europe and abroad.
He graduated from the French engineering school Supéléc (Master of Science Electrical Engineering, 2001) and from the University of Texas at Austin, USA (Master of Science Electrical Engineering, 2001). He works at Schneider Electric in France, where he has run international power projects across the globe, mainly in Middle East and Africa, and has headed the full solution operations business in the CIS zone out of Russia. He now runs the global Energy Automation business for the group, a fast growing business at the heart of Smart Grids.
Passionate about the energy domain, he has grown convinced of the urgent need for our generation to tackle the energy transition ahead of us.
