This book addresses the lack of binding multi-lateral international agreement on cartels, through analysis of trials and failures. It also suggests strategic approaches to overcome current standstills. In addition, the book contrasts international agreement on cartels with inter-governmental commodity agreement which has been developed separately through international law. Through this project, the author puts forth that successful international law on cartels needs to reflect the interests and arguments of developing countries.

Dr. John Sanghyun Lee is an associate professor at Global Law Department (GLD), College of Law, Soongsil University(SSU). Since 2010, he has worked as an assistant professor, a GLD director, a head of Research Center on Conflict Resolution and Peaceful Re-Unification of Korea, and a general manager of SSU Faculty Senate. He served as a legal expert of fair election management committee for SSU President. He has also supported East Asian Regional Round (EARR) of Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition as a committee member, a judge, and a chief of memorial review board. He also gave lectures to law students at Gachun University College of Law, and Duksung Women's University Department of Law. Law Courses that he has taught are Criminal Law and Criminal Procedures of Korea, U.S. and Comparative Criminal Law, Criminal Law Clinic, Global Community & International Law, and International Development Cooperation & Law.
