Wardah Tahir graduated from Cornell University, New York USA, received her MSc in Water Resources from Birmingham University, UK and PhD in Civil Engineering (Water Resources) from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Malaysia. Currently, she is the Deputy Dean (Academic) and associate professor in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM. Wardah has completed a number of researches in Flood Frequency Analysis, Design Flood Estimation, River Modeling and Flood Simulation, and Flood Forecasting. She has published more than 70 papers in proceedings, journals, and books. She has developed two flood related software named DeFlood GS (patented) and GMS-Rain. She has also won several awards in exhibitions on invention and innovation, locally and internationally.
Sahol Hamid bin Abu Bakar, the patron of Flood Control Research Centre, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) is a professor in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM and a Guest Professor of Civil Engineering at WAREM (Water Resources Engineering), University of Stuttgart, Germany. Currently, he holds the highest position in the largest university in Malaysia; he has always been enthusiastic in finding solutions in flood problems nationwide and worldwide. He has been involved with various research projects in the field of his expertise, including flood control, hydraulics, water resources, economy, environmental engineering and building construction and received several international awards for the research products. His vast experiences in management are of an outstanding achievement.
Marfiah Ab.Wahid graduated from Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM in 1999, received Master in Environmental Engineering from UKM in 2005 and PhD from Kyoto University, Japan in 2011. She is currently the Head of Centre for Water Resources and Environmental System at Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM, Shah Alam. Her specialization lies in the field of Water and Environmental Engineering. Her major research interests are environmental monitoring including pathogen, antibiotic and antibiotic resistant bacteria, water and wastewater treatment technology.
Siti Rashidah Mohd Nasir graduated in BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from University of Leeds, UK in 1994. She has been working as a Civil Engineer in a construction organization from 1994-1997 before furthering her studies in MSc Project Management from University of Glamorgan, UK and graduated in 1998. She then received her PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2011. She serves as a lecturer in the Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM from 1998 until to date. She is currently the Head of Centre for Construction Business and Project Management at Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM, Shah Alam. Her expertise is in Construction Project Management and her research interest is Sustainable Construction.
Dr Lee Wei Koon is a civil engineering graduate from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He obtained his master degree by research in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and his doctorate from Oxford University, UK. Dr Lee's research interest spans across fluid mechanics, hydraulics, coastal engineering, and water resources engineering. His expertise is in numerical computation, with particular strength in modeling of shallow water environment, 2-layer stratified flow, pollutant transport and chaotic mixing. He is a principal investigator and co-investigator to a number of institutional and national research grants amounting. Dr Lee has published frequently and also serves as reviewer to a number of local and international conferences and journals.
