This title is written by Peter G. Hessler. With the focus on return on investment and new technologies, the power industry today is much different than it was years ago. A unique set of management skills is necessary to supervise construction or retrofitting of a power generation plant, given today's bottom-line emphasis on environment, fuel efficiency, up-to-date technical features, and the industry's loss of experienced craftsmen and supervisory personnel. This book explains the power of economics behind the industry and how to manage the finances of work activities. It discusses: construction management skills; financial awareness tools; and, overseas tricks of the trade.

He graduated with his BSME from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and supervised the construction, maintenance and repair of utility and industrial boilers throughout the Caribbean and the Mid East for Combustion Engineering for six years. Hessler's experience also includes eight years of ""in-the-field"" supervision and business development of oil field and power plant maintenance and repair projects, worldwide.
