This 46th edition provides basic information for 168 individual countries' external trade performances in terms of the overall trends in current value, as well as in volume and price, the importance of trading partners and the significance of individual commodities imported and exported. Volume one is arranged by country and contains tables showing general trade imports and exports from 1962 to 1997; imports by broad economic category and exports by industrial origin; trade by principle countries of origin and destination (US dollars) and value as percentage of world total; and general imports and exports by commodities. The bulk of volume two contains commodity tables organized by group (3-digit) level of the SITC and showing trade in million US dollars (five years by region and individual country) and value as percentage of total (ten years by region and for top ten countries).
