Andrew Braham is an associate professor of civil engineering at the University of Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BS in May 2000 and an MS in May 2002. From June 2002 through December 2004, he worked with Koch Materials Company as a field engineer and a research engineer. In June 2005, he returned to school for doctoral work at the University of Illinois and graduated in December 2008. For the next two years, from February 2009 to November 2010, Dr. Braham was a postdoctoral research fellow at Southeast University in Nanjing, China. In November 2010, Dr. Braham began work in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Arkansas, where he has continued to study transportation materials while expanding into sustainability. A major component of Dr. Braham’s laboratory investigates asphalt emulsion, pavement maintenance, and pavement rehabilitation. He has performed research for regional, state, and national funding agencies, along with private industry. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in transportation engineering, pavement design, pavement materials, and sustainability. You can find out more about Dr. Braham at www.andrewbraham.com. Sadie Casillas is a research civil engineer at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center. She received a BS from the University of Arkansas in May 2013 followed by an MS in May 2015. For the next year, she worked at HBK Engineering in Chicago, Illinois as a civil design engineer for the telecommunications sector. In June of 2016, she returned to the University of Arkansas to pursue a PhD, which she completed in June of 2020. Upon graduating, she began working for the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center in July 2020 in the Airfields and Pavement Branch. Dr. Casillas’s research will focus on asphalt materials with an emphasis on pavement preservation and pavement rehabilitation.
